Three large scale Calder sculptures that have recently been conserved are being transported to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam this week and next.  The treatments balance good industrial practices with methods and materials that are approved by the Calder Foundation.   Structural and surface needs of the sculpture are addressed and then it is repainted so that it remains in keeping with the artist’s intent.  Of interest is the newly available, adapted military paint in Calder Black.

More updates to come during the courier trip to Amsterdam and the installation.
